You create a profile, then I go looking for other members of the opposite sex who fit your criteria and you fit their criteria. I also calculate a score for your values and lifestyles and if you pass, I introduce you to each other. Once you are introduced, it is all up to you. If you do not like the match I found for you, you remove the match and move on. You can have only up to 5 matches at a time. This way, you know you have each other's (almost) undivided attention.
What do you mean "in essence free"? How much will it cost?
There is no monthly membership fee or any other charges. There is only a one-time profile approval fee which is meant to make sure that everyone on SantaMatch is here for the right reasons (eliminates the spammers, scammers, pranksters and in general people who are not on SantaMatch for the right reasons which are dating, love and long-term relationship). That fee ($17.95 limited time) is used to pay the elves who review and approve profiles and provide customer support. The approved member status lasts for 1 year. You do not have to get approved unless you like your introductions.
I can't upload photos, what gives?
Before you upload your photos, resize your photos using a graphic software (photoshop or others. Your digital camera most likely came with a software that can do the job) to between 30 kb and 500 kb. Anything below 30 kb may result in low resolution and photos above 500 kb will fail to upload. Your photos must also be of jpg/jpeg format.
Will you use my email address to spam me?
No. Santa does not spam and does not send email solicitations. Santa doesn't share your email address with spammers either or with anyone else for that matter. Your email address is visible only to me.
Do you work only around Christmas?
No. SantaMatch creates happy couples 365 days a year, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
Who sees my profile and photos?
By default, only your matches see your profile and photos. However, if you choose to browse other members' profiles, your profile will also be visible to all members who have chosen to browse and be browsed. In addition, about one in fifty new members is selected to be featured, making their profiles visible to members of the opposite sex around the same age. If you do not want to be featured, go to 'Settings' and check 'Do not feature me' and that guarantees that only people who meet your criteria (and you meet theirs) see your profile.
Your site is not displaying or functioning properly on my computer, what is wrong?
Most likely, your browser settings disable cookies, Javascript or both. To fix that, go to your browser settings and enable cookies and Javascript. SantaMatch.com cannot function properly without cookies that are used to sign you in and display relevant information (SantaMatch.com does not sell or collect your personal information for marketing purposes). Also, if you are using old browser versions, some pages may not display properly. To fix that, I recommend that you download a newer version of your browser.
I am not receiving email notifications about new emails and new matches.
Occasionally my SMTP (outbound email) server experiences technical difficulties and outgoing emails are delayed. However, most likely my notifications were erroneously caught by a spam (junk mail) filter and are therefore in your spam folder. If that is the case, you must classify messages from me (
) as "not spam". This is important because without my email notifications you will not know when a member has sent you a message, when I have found a new match for you, etc.
Another possibility is that you have entered a wrong email address at your registration. In that case go to Settings, then click Other Settings, then click Change Email Address to enter your correct email address. Also, some smaller email providers use spam blockers that do more harm than good and block legitimate emails, not delivering it to its recipient. In that case, we recommend that you switch to the Gmail, Hotmail or a Yahoo email address (we strongly recommend Gmail).
SantaMatch is about the quality of your matches, rather than quantity. The number of perfect matches will depend on a number of factors. If you have narrowed your criteria too much, it will be hard to find a matching mate for you. Santa looks for members who match your criteria but at the same time, you must fit their criteria. Other factors that will affect your number of matches are your location and your values and lifestyles, as you have specified in your profile.
I received a notice about a new match but when I logged in I did not see any. What happened?Bummer! Your match has removed you before you had a chance. Just move on, there will be others. But here is a good idea: people who have not uploaded their photos and have not completed their profile are 10 times more likely to be removed by their matches before they have a chance to communicate. In order to get the most out of SantaMatch, it is highly recommended that you upload photos and complete a thorough profile.
What do you mean "in your area"?
Some people would cross the ocean for love, others would fly to the moon. As of November 2008 we let members decide how far they are willing to travel for love, with 50 miiles (80 km) being the minimum distance and obviously we encourage members to increase that radius because true love is worth the extra effort.
How do I change my email address? My password? My zip code?
Log into your account and go to 'Settings', then click 'Other settings' and follow the instructions.
Browsing is not showing anything
Either you have entered an invalid zip code in your profile or the zip code you have entered could not be found in my database. Either way, to fix that go to Settings, then Other Settings and click 'change zip code'. Enter your correct the zip code or change it to a nearby zip that can be found in my database.
Why can't I always stay signed in?
SantaMatch.com keeps you signed in for 30 days unless you log out.
The values and lifestyle questionnaire avoids values and lifestyles that are considered universally positive or negative. Asking someone whether they are generous or honest makes the answer moot.
Why is my profile showing 'online now' when I am not online?
If you did not click the 'Logout' link on your member page before leaving, and instead just closed the browser window, you are still registered as 'online' for two more hours. In order for the system to display your status correctly, click the 'Logout' link when you leave the site.
How does your values and lifestyle matching work?
I calculate a score based on your values and lifestyle and your potential mate's values and lifestyle and the importance you both assigned to each of the factors. The exact algorithm for the score calculation is a secret.
How are featured members selected?
About one in fifty members is selected to be featured. Featured members' profiles are visible to all other members of the opposite sex. Featured members are selected of all ages and all walks of life, sometimes randomly. The Featured section is there to satisfy your curiousity of 'who else is out there'? If they are not on your match list, there is a reason for this but you are always welcome to make new friends.
I cannot log in, what happened?
You either forgot your screen name, password or both. To reset password, follow the steps by clicking the link under the login box - this process will also remind you your screen name in case you forgot it too. After you get your new password, for security reasons, I recommend that you log in, go to Settings, click Other Settings and change your password back to a password of your choice. If you do not get the password reset request email within an hour and it is not in your spam folder, it is because your email provider is using a blocking software. In that case contact support (
) to request a manual reset of your password.
Log in and click 'Settings' in your member menu. Then click 'Other settings' and follow the instructions. Canceling your account means that Santa will no longer try to find a match for you and your profile becomes invisible. If you later want to reactivate your account, you can follow the same route and reactivate it with one click, without having lost any of the information you have entered on your profile.

Whether you met someone and started dating or just want to take a break, you can easily stop receiving introductions and stop all emails from us by going to Settings, then going to Other Settings and then canceling your account. Your profile information will remain intact and you will be able to reactivate it at any time with one click by following the same route. Canceling your account is equivalent to hiding your profile. You will not receive matches and your profile becomes invisible.
